So this came across the library news wire recently: Help! Floor to Ceiling Books in Saskatchewan

I was inspired by the idea of floor to ceiling stacks of books. I assume in the case above the person was stacking them against a wall. I, however wanted to see if I could make a pillar of books that was freestanding in the middle of a room. I have recently moved and not yet unpacked all my boxes of books. As with most librarian-types, I am also a mini-hoarder of books, so I definitely had enough works to span floor to ceiling and beyond. So I decided to make a little detour with these books before they made it to the shelf.

Here is evidence of my efforts, as you can see I didn’t get that far which probably due to make haphazard approach. I decided not to plan my book tower, simply stack as I went. I think with better planning, this could be done. Obviously, I am librarian not an engineer so down my books fell after a little bit. After having to pick up all these books, I decided not to give another go, kinda like you only play 52-card-pickup once, if you are lucky. I will save this activity for another rainy day.
