So.....this is a bit late in posting, but I figured I'd share my outrage with all of you. Well...more annoyed than outraged, but it'll all make sense in a minute.
So, I went out drinking on Friday. And I didn't pay for a single drink, thank you very much! However, I had a tad more than I usually would. So, as I had drove to the bar, I decided to not drive home. It is only a 7 or 8 minute walk, but it was cold, so I had my friend come and pick me up. She doesn't sleep.
Anyway, she drove me home and I slept in the next morning. Then, I walked down to pick up my car. And what did I find, kindly placed on my windshield? That's right....a ticket. MY FIRST TICKET EVER!!!! Apparently, there is no parking from 2 AM to 6AM within the village of Alfred. Did I know this? No. Did anyone tell me? No. Was there a sign on the street, stating this rule?
NO!
So, I had to pay the ticket, because I don't have time to go and argue at the courthouse. Plus, my court date would be during my internship in a few weeks. .......I am not overly pleased..........
And long story short? What did we learn from this experience? Obviously next time I drive to a bar and drink all night, I'll be driving home!!! I won't actually, but that's basically the message that the cops are sending. Don't want a ticket? Then drive intoxicated!!!!! What's an ex-SPARC member to do?
