Yay! IUD is all done and in!
Overall, everything went really well. Insertion didn't go too badly, and while there was definitely some cramping at the time, it took about two minutes for everything. I took ibuprofen and a tiny dose of Ativan (muscle relaxant-type thing) and was sleepy and out of it when everything happened. It was for the best - had I been more alert, I probably would have been more tense. Rob drove me there and back, then I came home and slept for three hours. Aside from cramping (no worse than period cramping) all yesterday, and general wooziness from the Ativan, it was a very simple, easy procedure. This morning I feel great, only have the very slightest of cramps (which they said could last from 3-5 days) and I don't have to worry about birth control for 5 years. Woohoo!
