Fingon is feeling better! Clean clothes and family gatherings do things for you!

So he's sitting downstairs and chilling on the couch, flipping without interest through a book and hoping some people show up. Because, after all, it's lovely to see cousins family. Despite the nasty othercousinthings wandering around.

We're not sure why, but Nik is going to be sitting nearby, cursing at the fact that there aren't any sources of fancy fruit juice and organic salad dressings.

He's made himself a sandwich of sorts, and he's now trying to enjoy it.

It's not working very well.

Fingon looks up the moment Niko enters and watches him with some amount of vague curiosity, but not saying anything as of yet.

He looks quite Elvish, Nik! We're sure you recognize it.

Well, except for the pointy teeth. But still.... Nik drops his sandwich, and is on his two feet in a moment.

"Auphe."

He raises his eyebrows.

"Pardon me?" With a slight edge to his voice.

There is in fact a note somewhere in Nightlife where someone says Tolkien elves don't exist... Cal, actually. We're assuming that we're in a real place with no fictional characters, for now.

But Niko shakes his head, to look at Fingon again, more easily. "No, I'm sorry, it's a trick of my eyes, perhaps."

An Auphe would have already ripped him to shreds, he decides, and would certainly not be so polite.

Ha, silly Nik. He'll figure it out eventually.

He watches Nik with slightly narrowed eyes but nods, once. "I didn't recognize the name. What is it?"

Niko bows, politely. "An ancient race long gone, and an enemy of my own. I know you are not such, it was only a trick of my eyes. The Auphe are not so civil as you, and so I pray you forgive my mistake."

He's mollified. But frowns, a touch. "And dangerous." Therefore something he should know.

"Highly." And coming from Nik, it's no exaggeration.

A frown, listening.

[ninja_niko]

"They lost dominion of Earth eons ago - to mankind - and they are pretty much unpleased about it. You can imagine what their current goal in life is."

A slight frown. Those people again! What are they doing dominating the world in the first place?

"I can imagine."

"Do you imagine, or do you sympathize?" Suspiciously.

Because, hello, it is such a similar scenario. XD

Eyes narrow and he turns them on Nik. "I imagine." Coldly. Don't you dare accuse me of that!
