☆ mini event: a rivalry as old as time.

Oct 29, 2010 10:40

There have been tales of vampires and werewolves for as long as humankind has known to think and imagine. In the Middle Ages, during the rise of chivalry, there were as many fair maidens captured by bloodsuckers as by dragons. More often than not, knights had to seek help from the lycans to defeat the foe and win the lady's hand, turning themselves ( Read more... )

Youngbae had decided that today was as good a day as any to go check in on his car. Jay had said something on the phone about not being able to find a replacement bumper in the right color, and though Youngbae didn't really care what color(s) his Hyundai ended up, nothing he'd said had changed the mechanic's mind. It was easy enough to walk to the body shop after a day of practice...

But it didn't take much for him to realize he was being tailed by a group of rather unruly, unwashed looking people.

More than tailed; chased.

By the time that he had started to run, there was a pack of them; hot on his heels as they chased him down narrow streets and back alleys - all the way to his destination where, hopefully, they would change him.

They could always use more in their ranks.

Youngbae had just started to breathe heavily when he saw the body shop come into view. He put a burst of his power into his speed, glancing over his shoulder. He ran past the shop at full speed, shouting out a "HELP!" on the way. He kept running though, into the junkyard behind the shop.

If Jay wasn't working, maybe he could lose his pursuers in the labyrinth of spare parts.

And the wolves?

They kept chasing. No pathetic maze was going to keep them from their prey, as the pack split into pairs and gave chase.

Maybe it was wrong after all that he had a job which required him to go home this late at night. After exchanging goodbyes with his co-worker, Henry walked down the familiar streets to his apartment, seemingly not affected by the cold air and those creepy sounds that reminded him of something.

That he was alone.

It wasn't like he minded it though; he'd been alone for the past couple of years, and it wasn't a problem at all - less headache for him. Or so he'd like to think. He was so lost in his own thoughts that he didn't notice someone (or, something) was following him.

Alone, Alone... That was how the beasts preferred to be, less they were cutting them off from crowds like a pack. The three that followed Lau Henry did so from a safe distance, just watching with bright yellow eyes. It was a game to them - how long could they go without him noticing?

Who would be able to sink their teeth into that pale, exposed neck to change him.

One of them slid closer - completely not unusual, save for the citron color of her irises as she stalked her chosen prey.

He walked and walked, completely not bothered by the sudden change of air surrounding him. His subconscious noticed an approaching danger, but his conscious interpreted it as 'the usual thugs.' So he walked casually, sliding his hands into his pockets, until he looked at a glass window of a building.

That reflected his stalkers - plural, sadly - whom he could see from his peripheral vision. A female was walking closer to him, and he didn't like his own idea that involved strange creatures- Stop, damnit!

Suddenly the air felt too cold and too suffocating to his liking. He quickened his pace, and why is the apartment so damn far? For safety purposes, he pulled his gun out from the back of his pants. With this, he could be a little at ease. He hoped.

A gun?

She fought the urge to laugh as she slid up behind him and held him under the chin - the other arm locked around his waist, holding him tightly - almost tightly enough to crush his ribs as she jerked his head to one side and let her teeth slide over his throat. A snarl in the back of her throat - an angry dog - and grinned against his neck.

"Hello, beautiful," She cooed, before letting her teeth sink into his throat, her two companions joining her to help hold him still.

Having worked late yesterday night, Dam Bi was forced to skip patrolling last night. Something she really hated doing. Even more so after a few reports of strange people causing havoc throughout the streets of New Harbor.

Tonight there would be no excuse. She prepared earlier than she usually did; only waiting for the sun to set so she could head out.

Dam Bi didn’t know what she would be dealing with but she knew it wasn’t your usual thief or even a villain. No. This enemy was nothing like the ones she was up against every night. She thought, as she walked the through the darkening streets, unaware of a pair of eyes that followed her every move.

A pair of brilliantly blue eyes, set into a face too pale to be anything other than what it belonged to; a vampire.

She was followed silently, as her stalker glided behind - staying just close enough to keep an eye on his chosen prey, but not close enough - nor loud enough - to be detected. No... There were other plans he had for this... Particularly delectable piece of flesh.

Loud screams pierced the air which made her quickly go into action, but as soon as the screaming had started it’d just as fast ended. When she arrived at the place she’d followed the screams to she was only met with a body, slumped against a street lamp. Her heart sank like all the other times she’d found a body (not that it was a lot of times) and it took her some time before she could approach it ( ... )

How sweet of her, to be carrying the dead back to places where their corpses wouldn't be eaten by those damned dogs. It was too bad that their orders were not to create any fledglings - she would have made a stunning vampire, he was sure.

He moved behind her - grabbed her by the hair and the shoulder, barely giving her time to realize what was happening before he bit her - pumping heady chemicals to arouse pleasure in her, to keep her from fighting too hard.

He would have loved to keep such beauty all for himself - but at least she would make a delicious meal.

Hongki had never taken the wrong subway before. It was his third year at this university and his third year working at the ice cream parlor... the map subway system was burned into his brain by now. So how did he wind up in such an unfamiliar area after work tonight?

The boy scratched his head, turning around and muttering to himself. "Aish... seriously, how...? Where...??" He bit his lip as the wind blew through his feathery dark hair. It was chilly tonight, but Hongki's skin was constantly cold no matter what temperature it was. Though he felt heat and warmth like any other normal person, he found himself pulling his hoodie tighter around his body as a chill crept down his spine. He had a sinking feeling that he was not alone.

Where indeed.

The problem wasn't that Hongki had somehow ended up in New New York - the problem was that he'd ended up in New New York while a bunch of crazed, bloodthirsty predators were having it out every other street. It wasn't luck that Die bumped into him, he knew he would find him, but the seer was staggering and his head was pounding - he'd just seen four or five people bitten two blocks away, and he couldn't make his brain wrap around the sudden change in future, the sudden void where those three girls should have been.

"W-what the hell are you doing out here?" He asked, looking at the young man with wide brown eyes. "We have to get off the street, come on, come on." He grabbed the others wrist - so cold, he knew it would be - and pulled him towards his apartment building - a block away opposite the direction of the slaughter he'd just witnessed.

Hongki stumbled slightly as he was tugged by the wrist by this stranger. He was barely able to catch a glimpse of red hair before he was running down the street against his will. "Wh-who are you??" he asked a little too loudly, his husky voice echoing. "What's going on??" He did not like people forcing him to do things, no matter the situation. But by now, he could hear the sounds of slaughter on the streets and knew that something very wrong was happening. His first instinct was to wonder if he could help somehow, but that quickly disappeared with the fear that crept upon him as they ran to the apartment.

"Fuck fuck fuck--" Die got them both into the building and slammed the door - heading for the elevator. "We need to get up high and behind a locked door," He panted - he was getting too old for this shit, goddamnit - and hit the button for his floor.

"Holy shit." He tried not to let the assumed safety of the elevator lure him into complacency. "Holy shit, I thought we were going to die."
