One Shot

A random one-shot resulting from boredom:
rating: PG/K+

She whirls on the spot, eyes quickly roving the area.  The Death Eater lying next to her on the ground moans, and she absentmindedly silences him with her wand, not even looking at him as she casts the spell.  A day earlier, she would have been horrified to have cast such a horrible spell on anyone, but so much has happened since yesterday.  It could have been a year ago.  Suddenly, that horrible voice belonging to that horrible being, Voldemort, echoes through the castle, making the walls shake with its strength.  But, though his voice is clear, his words do not make sense.  Harry Potter cannot be dead.  Not her Harry Potter.  It is ridiculous to think that he would die saving himself.  Harry is willing to die to save others.  She shakes her head, confused, and steps over the Death Eater, picking up speed as she passes empty portraits and carcasses of both Death Eaters and Hogwartians in the hall.  People are already flooding the grounds as she comes out, but determination to find out the truth, and love for the person himself, for Harry, makes her continue, shoving her way to the front of the crowd.  Ron and Hermione are already standing there, their faces white with shock and disbelief, staring at-

No.

Her heart stops and her mouth runs dry.  She begins shaking.

Then all of her senses come back to her at once, and her heart is suddenly hammering, her palms are slick, and her head is throbbing.  No.  She silently forms the word on her lips.

"No!"

People seem to have been waiting for someone to move, to say something, for several shouts follow hers.  Voldemort casts a spell, silencing them all.  But they will not be kept quiet.

"He beat you," her brother shouts, and the shouting begins again.  He did.  He beat Voldemort.  He beat him the day he was born, the day Voldemort had tried to kill him for the first time.  He has already won.

He has already won.

Oh, btw, that was supposed to be from Ginny Weasley's perspective, in case you didn't gather that.  Comment.
