One: the level of tension in this fic is perfect. I love the way Dan and Charlotte "fight" because it's almost unrecognizable, the way the dynamic changes, and then shifts back to normal. I love the ebb and flow of everyday normal tensions, exacerbated by their situation and mitigated by it at the same time. I loveloveLOVE the moment when Charlotte hits Widmore instead of slapping him. Perfect.
Two: He’s fidgeting in that way she knows means he’s measuring his words, weighing responses, hands wringing then moving to the hem of his shirt, his hips, dropping again, imprinting the carpet with the back-and-forth shifting of his movement. This whole image gets an A+ and a gold star. Perfect, because the physicality is visceral without being OTT, the characterization fits like a glove, and of course Charlotte knows exactly what his movements mean ( ... )

I appreciate so, so much that the tension of this is one of the things that worked for you -- sometimes I have a hard time "building" like that in my fics, so that's great to hear. And this -- I loveloveLOVE the moment when Charlotte hits Widmore instead of slapping him. Heeee, yay! I figured she would go straight to the punch instead. ;D
Again, YAY, because I feel like so often I overdo it when it comes to Dan's physicality, so this was a HUGE relief! And yes, I like to think that Charlotte would have all his quirks and ticks down by heart at that point. :D
It was SUPER intentional, and that was one of the reasons I was actually more pleased with this fic than most of late -- a lot of times recently I'll post something and be eeeeehhhh about it, but with this I felt like my style kinda came together, so again, so, so much appreciation for you thinking that.
HUUUUGS for all of this! :D

(He hopes it’s the last time. He’s pretty sure it isn’t.)
Ow, my fucking heart.
Daniel falls in love mile by mile.
This whole little section was gorgeous.
(the last stop she used Juliet on a stupid whim and Dan turned almost grey, didn't speak to her for an hour).
Aaaaaaaaaaaah oh my god. Greatest.
Dan juggles two coffees -- sugar and too much milk in his, black for her
There are about a billion perfect little details here.
AND OH MY GOD, YOUR ELOISE IS PERFECT. ♥
I love that the proposal and marriage are just sort of shoved in there with a litany of other things. It really works. I also love how this is really an ensemble fic.
He pats her shoulder, gently, murmurs something about a vending machine down the hall

OKAY, SO, LONGEST COMMENT EVER, but I basically adored this. It's the perfect ending for them.

I love Charlotte teaching Dan how to take care of himself.YES -- this is something I was totally trying to weave through the entire thing, that my favourite thing about the pairing is how much they give to each other/balance each other out ( ... )

There's something really appealing about travelling fics, isn't there? I guess it's that sense of momentum you can get only from having the characters move all the time.
Awww, thank you so much, again! Obviously Charlotte = <<<3 for me, and I ended up using her POV here a lot more than originally intended, so I'm so pleased you liked it! Especially what you pointed out in particular, since I was hoping to have both those things mirror each other -- that those are the things she can give Dan, but he helps her lower her own defenses in return ( ... )

Hahahah, I'll attribute that to the fact they're in my head constantly, and have kind of taken on a life of their own, to be honest! ;D And yes, for all the angst I write in my fics, I hate to give anyone a totally terrible ending -- much prefer it when characters can find a sense of peace, even if everything isn't totally resolved.
