I actually debated taking a way angstier route with this, but I wanted both Jack and Charlotte to find some kind of peace by the end, even if everything wasn't neatly resolved for them. They just can't catch a break. ;P
Oh wow -- THANK YOU, again! What a fantastic compliment. *blushes*

I will take that as positive, unless otherwise corrected. :)

Yeah, I toyed with the idea of actually making them being the only ones remembering purposeful (and I suppose, from some points of view, it was) but I prefer to have them never really understand why and try to grapple with that. Guess because it's the what now? that interests me more than the why.
Thank you, again, for all the lovely feedback! It's much appreciated. :D

Yeah, like I said to someone else, I don't know why it popped into my head to have these two above anyone else (in my plotting, I was actually going to have memories slowly returning to everyone, but this is what came out instead, lol). I guess just because they both had so much to lose, and would maybe feel the guiltiest (aside from Daniel) if things didn't work out.
Hahaha, it's funny you mention the wife, because I purposely left her kind of a blank slate. I debated making her Theresa, but that just seemed a little ... cliche, and I wanted to illustrate how much the bomb going off impacting Daniel's route through life and how drastically it changed his circumstances.
Thank you! Wow, I'm so incredibly flattered by that! :D

I prefer her loved, adored and dead rather than alive and living a Faraday lite existence :'(, poor thing I really do love both characters so much, but better dead and together than alive and apart, which just adds to the tradegy.
nicely writtern, but just too sad for my emotional unstable mind today lol

Honestly, I'm kind of the fence about which I'd rather see; alive but apart is definitely more tragic in a sense, but the fact they (in my mind) could connect regardless of circumstances -- and with the results of their meeting open-ended -- I think is encouraging.

my opinion on this ship is that its already been tradgic enough lol. I mean the first death after the love confession, It was so sad, and then Faraday gets murdered by his own mum,
I mean one of the things that really made me love Lost these last seasons (4 and 5) was this pairing because i never really cared about any of the other couples (cept maybe des/pen cos who doesn't love the constant :D) I wasn't really into it before then
They are two characters most in need of love and/or a happy ending and i would want them to get that together, Some ships I don't think should be messed with (on the show) like this one and Des/Pen Jin/Sun and if they did that on the show i'd be well annoyed, I'd rather have had them just left dead on the island rather than apart

Oh absolutely, and I totally see where you're coming from -- out of everyone (save maybe Locke) they've had the most screwed-up lives, doomed lives, right? Daniel's mom knew she'd killed him before he was even born, and Charlotte was told as a child that she would die if she came back to the island. I'm actually hoping the opposite of this fic actually happens in the show -- or at the very least, they get some kind of happy resolution -- but it was also a set-up that was too tempting not to explore, whether Charlotte would sacrifice for Daniel like he did for her.
