I suppose the good thing about not having time to breathe is that you are not afforded the luxury of anything but brute honesty and necessary stress. In less than 14 days I will have bought a house, but I have been so busy that I have not even had the time to contemplate all the possible disasters that loom in this decision. The strangest thing about it is the commitment to life in Baltimore. A year ago I had definite plans to vacate a.s.a.p. Now - through the discovery of a life I enjoy and the reluctance to move anywhere else - I've consented to remain here for an indefinite length of time. It's really such an adult-like move that I still feel ill-prepared for yet somehow not worried. I guess that's how all major changes end up happening anyway. I think if I ever slowed down I wouldn't be able to handle my thoughts.
