This weekend has been an emotional rollercoaster.
Some crap that I learned at the Tab and some of the emotional fallout of that from the people that it effected the most followed by Brenda getting sick (apparently some nasty stomach virus) lowered my defenses.
But walking in to work this morning was the icing on the cake. We learned that a former co-worker who had left the company in November because he had melanoma is on his deathbed. His wife said that he was peaceful but had hours to live- and that was at 0930 today. We are waiting now to hear word of his passing.
Mikey, you were a wonderfully calm person who was a joy to work with- even if you were a dirty old man. You will be missed. May your crossing be pleasant and may HeySeuss (if he exists) welcome you in his arms. And most of all- rest easy, you deserve it.
(The HeySeuss comment was one Mikey made many times as he was a mostly Agnostic person, I just feel it so important to include it here because it would be so like him to say that now.)
