"OW! Dad!" The blonde teenager whined loudly, when the hot iron of the pink straightener burned her ear, turning around and glaring at the man behind her.

"I'm sorry!" Alex defended himself, a rather identical glare adorning his features as he held the burning object away from his daughter. "I told you to stop squirming because you would get burned, now didn't I?" He asked then, frowning as Amanda huffed and turned around once again, allowing the blonde man to continue working on her hair.

"I told you I could do it myself," she argued back, crossing her arms stubbornly and making Alex sigh.

"I thought it was our tradition, me doing your hair on your first day of school," he commented, grabbing a wavy strand of golden hair to work on straightening it.

"Yeah, but I'm really nervous and you're taking too long and I don't wanna be late and Blair and John told me they'd meet me at the bus stop an-"

"It's called breathing; you should try it from time to time," a dark-haired man cut in in a joking tone, walking into the teenager's bedroom and sitting down on the bed next to his husband, making Amanda roll her eyes.

"Whatever, can you please hurry up, dad?" She asked, feet tapping obnoxiously on the wooden floor, a habit she had clearly gotten from Jack.

It was an understandment to say that Amanda was a tiny bit nervous about her first day of high school, all the warm and reassuring words her two dads had spoken to her the night before clearly long forgotten as she gnawed on her bottom lip and twisted her fingers nervously.

"Hey, stop that," Jack said, kneeling in front of Amanda and taking her hands in his, rubbing her shoulder soothingly afterwards. "You don't need to be nervous about anything, okay? You're gonna do great," he spoke, noticing the black nail polish on the girl's nails that wasn't there the night before. "You didn't sleep at all last night, did you?" He asked amusedly then, smirking when a light blush spread across Amanda's already rosy cheeks as she shook her head.

"We'll have to stop by a Starbucks on our way to school," Alex commented, just when his daughter was in the middle of letting out a rather impressive yawn that made Jack giggle.

"But I told Blair and John I would take the bus with them," the fifteen-year-old teenager said, pouting and giving her dad the puppy-dog eyes and Alex knew oh so well what that meant.

"Text them and tell them we'll pick them up," he sighed, making Amanda grin and pull her shiny new iPhone out of her pocket, quickly tapping on the screen and zoning out for the next few minutes that it took Alex to finish her hair, kissing the top of the girl's head lovingly and walking over to his husband afterwards, wrapping his arms around the younger's neck, throwing himself against the lanky body and sighing dramatically, making Jack laugh.

"No wonder why is Amanda such a drama queen," he smirked, earning two not-really-amused grunts from the two blondes, laughing loudly as he gave Alex a chaste kiss on the lips and left the bedroom, almost tripping over Sebastian on his way to the living room, too engrossed in his own thoughts.

Who could have thought the last 9 years would have flown by the way they had?

It seemed like it was just yesterday that they had gotten into the stupidest fight of their whole lives... yet the most important one nonetheless, for that dumb argument would have made Alex realize that he was indeed in love with his best friend.

Needless to say they hadn't left each other's sides ever since.

Just like Alex's mom had said, the blonde's daughter had been one of the main reasons the couple had remained strong over the years, always trying to be better persons for Amanda to have the best role models she could possible have, despite the dick jokes, the 'eff' words and the childish manners.

It had been hard at times, of course it had... but Amanda had adopted Jack as a father as much as the man had adopted her as his daughter, and they had created a bond that was equally as strong as her and Alex's, both of the two males being there for the little girl in every step of her life.

"Daddy-o!" Alex exclaimed from the hallway, cutting off Jack's thoughts immediately as butterflies pooled in his gut at the velvet voice.

Even after almost six years of being married Alex managed to give the younger man goosebumps and butterflies and all that really gay feelings, for as much as he loved to deny it.

"Yeah?" He asked, looking up and flashing a smile at his husband, wrapping his arms around the blonde and pressing his forehead against Alex's, taking a deep breath and smiling when the other man kissed him.

Alex hummed pleasantly at that, cupping the other male's cheeks with both hands and tilting his head that tiny bit to the side, feeling his stomach flutter with warmth when Jack's hands slid down his sides and his fingertips rubbed tiny circles into the small of his back.

"I don't get why is it that all your fans go nuts when you two kiss..." Amanda said as she walked past them, a rather adorable grimace on her face as she stared at her two dads. "It's pretty gross to me." She commented, giggling when the dark-haired man stuck her tongue out at her.

"We should get going, though, if we have to also pick up John and Blair," Jack said, slapping his husband's ass playfully, earning a disgusted noise from Amanda in the process and walking over to the kitchen island to grab his car keys, opening the front door afterwards and walking outside, unlocking the black car and climbing on it, the two Gaskarths following him suit.

"...because that special meat was the main reason I got so much diarrhea back in the days, "Jack explained, earning grossed out sounds and expressions from all the people inside the black vehicle. "Oh! And you should also think of cool names and start calling each other by those," he continued, staring at the three anxious-looking teenagers through the rearview mirror. "That way everybody will just call you by those nicknames as well, and you'll avoid having lame ones. Everybody used to call me Jack Attack back in high school," he continued, with a wide smile on his face.

At that, Alex was barely able to muffle a loud laugh with his hand, making Amanda snort from the back seat.

"No they didn't," she retorted, staring at the dark-haired man with a smug smirk. "Dad told me they used to call you Fruit Loops back in high school, after Grandma Joyce went there with a bag of cereal claiming that you had forgotten to eat your breakfast," there was no point in trying to contain his horselaugh now, Alex thought, once Amanda had finished, both of her friends hiding their faces behind their hands as if that way their loud giggles wouldn't be heard as Jack pouted, glaring at his husband.

"You can't fool a Gaskarth," Alex shrugged, still laughing at the younger's facial expression.

The ride was uneventful after that, with the three teenagers on the back seat chattering about new professors and lunch hours and homerooms and schedules, both Alex and Jack listening to them with amused smiles on their faces as they held hands over the center console of the car, their pointless babbling bringing good memories to both men of their own high school years.

Jack could totally get used to doing this on a daily basis.

"Okay, kiddos, we're here," he announced, once they had reached the very familiar gates of Dulaney High, the images of him and his best friends making the best out of those dreaded years instantly flooding his mind once he saw the big building standing before him. Nothing about it had changed, and that made Jack smile even wider.

"I'll see you later, guys," Amanda exclaimed, quickly climbing out of the car after her friends and walking away from them, not giving them a chance to embarrass her even more.

The blonde man stared after his daughter with his bottom lip caught in between his teeth, lost in his own thoughts. He would have liked to at least wish Amanda good luck and give her a quick hug... he couldn't help but feel a little bit nostalgic in these sort of situations, sue him.

Jack noticed the look on his husband's face and reached his hand out, placing it on the man's knee, squeezing gently and giving him a warm, reassuring smile, knowing that Alex must have been dying to just get out of the car and throw his arms around his daughter and tell her how proud of her he was and how much did he love her and all the really embarrassing things a daughter never really wants to hear his father say in front of her friends... let alone the entire high school, for that matter.

"You'll get her all to yourself once she gets home, baby," the dark-haired man said, taking Alex's hand in his and kissing his knuckles lovingly, pressing his lips against the cool silver band around the elder's ring finger before letting go of him, flashing a grin when Alex smiled appreciatively.

"I love you," was all he simply said in reply, brushing the black hair out of Jack's eyes and giving him a small smile.

"Hmm, I love you too," the guitarist hummed, starting the engine again and driving down the road away from their old high school. "I was thinking..." Jack continued, once they were already a few blocks away. "We could go back home and I could ravish your body, now that we're alone," he grinned and winked at the blonde man then, making him laugh loudly.

Yeah, things may have been tough before.... and there was no guarantee that they wouldn't be, in the future.

But they had each other, and they had Amanda.

And as long as that didn't change, everything would be okay.

Author's Notes: I'm not proud of the ending... at all. This is so short and boring and just ugh, but still... I can't believe this is already over ;_; I loved writing this, despite all the bitching and the whining, and I hope all of you (especially Amanda) enjoyed it as well.

Now I'm not sure if there's gonna be a sequel or not, I have a really vague idea of where I'd like to take this and all, and it'd sure as hell be an interesting storyline, but it still needs some hardcore planning and stuff, I don't wanna ruin this story with a shitty sequel.

And with that being said, I'd love to hear what you thought of this story? I promise free blow jobs, I'm good with my mouth ;D
