only a couple weeks late for the end of the world

Okay, this won't be applicable until I stop going ARRRRGH and make a second stab at Nyx (died on the final form with her HP down so far there was no bar, because I was dumb and went too aggressive, but I had the levels and the Personae), but I'm pretty much done with P3. Which means I need something else to play.

Poll What should Sarah play next?

video games, playing games like it's my job

I picked FFVII, although I've never played it, because it's the one I probably know the most about of all the listed games (none of which I have played either).

But, under "Something else," I listed anything from the Zelda series, and a good number of the games are playable on the GC or on the Wii. All in all, it's an action adventure type of series, but it may not necessarily be your bag (the timeline is what drives folks nuts, among other things), so please feel free to ignore. XD

I've played a bunch of the Zelda games -- I usually end up liking them for about the first 3/4, and then wanting to throw the controller at the screen/throw the handheld across the room for the last quarter. Which on the VC would you recommend?

Hahahahah! XD

Well, I would certainly not recommend Majora's Mask because the save system is so frustrating. Wind Waker has the easiest gameplay once you get used to it (at least that's true for me), but Ocarina of Time has the more involved gameplay and story. I guess it depends what about the games made you frustrated with them, specifically.

Mostly I'm not that good at the combat, and sometimes the later bosses kill me repeatedly, even with saving up for whatever the best armor/weapon/potions are.

But I have eventually finished all of the ones I started. They just get a little annoying at times.

*GRIN* I would say Wind Waker is probably your best bet... some of the later battles ARE hard, but generally still doable. I mean, if I can finish them, pretty much anyone can. XD; (Also, forgot to mention that I'd stay away from Phantom Hourglass... the repetitive visits to the Ocean Temple are excruciating.)

Now, I'll be honest... I've never played Twilight Princess, but I hear that it's even easier in gameplay than its predecessors. I don't know if that's one you've played, but just thought I'd mention it. :3

Actually, which are the ones that you have finished?

Lessee. Twilight Princess, the original Zelda, A Link To The Past (on the GBA rerelease), Minish Cap. I have Seasons and Ages somewhere -- found them used for cheap at one point, but never started them. And most of Link's Awakening DX -- I don't think I'd finished it when I got my DS and started carrying it instead of the GBA, and only the GBA is backwards compatible with GB Color games.

Maybe I will play OoT just to see Nabooru. XD

Ah! Yeah, I haven't played Twilight Princess, nor have I played Minish Cap, or the Oracles ones. I have played and finished the original Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link, A Link to the Past (the original SNES release), Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, and Wind Waker. Started Majora's Mask but never finished it because of the damn save system, and got fed up with Phantom Hourglass. I definitely would recommend against those last two. XD

Or... >.> I could point you to where you can download videos that have her in them. She's only in a couple of scenes and doesn't play that huge a direct role. That way, you wouldn't have to play the game at all.

I do like the Zelda games. I'm just not a fanatic over them. Like Kingdom Hearts -- fun, but I play them once and move on. But something action-y might be a nice change of pace, really.

Haha, okay then. XD I don't know if Ocarina of Time is available for the Wii Virtual Console, but I have it on a GC disc that you're welcome to borrow if you can't find another playable copy. Just let me know!

I will look when I turn off the Olympics and boot up the Wii later to DL the AAI demo, which I still haven't done. I think it's likely.

ETA: answer! OoT is available, and uses a controller I have. WW isn't available at all, oddly. Nifty.
