Been awhile since I've posted a proper blog entry, so now that I'm sitting here at work for a few more hours before tonight's client arrives, I figured enough had happened over the last few months for a nice, good update.

The biggest news, of course, is that Rick proposed to me on Thursday. That's probably not a huge surprise to most of you since we've been talking about it for awhile, but we made it 'official' during our vacation to San Francisco this past week. (Though the ring is still being made - should have it by New Years'.)

All my life I've kinda waffled on whether or not I wanted to get married, or if I'd ever find someone I felt 100% comfortable with. I'm glad I've found it - Rick really is the best man I've ever known, and I can see myself spending the rest of my life with him. It's exciting - up until now I've had overall some really amazing years out on my own - college, moving around, running a business, working a lot of cool jobs, and making some great friends. For a time, I thought that the best years might be behind me...but now I know they're just beginning. :-)

My 'real life job' continues to go well. I will have been working here for a year this coming February, and it's been nice to have a stable position for so long. The label is doing well, too, in spite of a general slow-down in all things industrial. I'm still happy to be releasing some truly fabulous artists these days.

So, what's next? Most of it depends on Rick's career - he'll be graduating this May, so he's currently on the hunt for a post-doc. He's had a few leads so far, so with luck, we'll be moving on to the next chapter sometime this summer. The wedding will hopefully be around that time too, but a lot of that planning is on hold until we have a better idea of what's going to happen.

In the meantime, I'm planning on enjoying my last six months or so in the area - going to work hard, put out some more good music, and take advantage of the beach a little bit more. Not now, of course - it's like 30 degrees outside.
