Really glad you liked this, hon! It flowed very easily as I wrote it too - although I had lots of notes so I could keep track of all of Ianto's jobs and their timeframes - but then, I'm not Ianto Jones! :)

Very interesting! I really like the relentlessly ordinary aspect of this - it's so ordered, so everyday at the beginning, and that creates a really creepy feeling that makes the situation more horrifying. I also like the details about the virus itself, and I love the discussion of the 1918 influenza pandemic. Great story, I really enjoyed reading it.

Relentlessly ordered was the idea! :) Partly because that's Ianto, and partly because 'On the Beach' is very much like that - an ordinariness to absolute disaster...

oooh very cool. I loved the structure, and the ordinariness of it, and Jack forgetting. great fic overall!

Well, I reckoned Jack has a lot of things to keep rattling around in that great brain of his - some things are bound to slip his mind! :)

Yeah, the 1918 epidemic triggered something for me years ago, not when I read of it directly, but when I read a novel by Barbara Hambly called 'Bride of the Rat God' in which the heroine has lost all her family due to it. And I hadn't heard of it before then either. I was shocked at the time, really shocked, because it killed so many people and yet no-one knows anything about it. I've always wanted to put in something about it in a fic some time, and this worked as an opportunity. Thank you!

This is so *right* it's amazing. The lovely pace from start to finish, and Ianto's ways of dealing with the world. I clapped when Jack delivered his explanation for not remembering the plague, because it was perfect and made so much sense. This is a brilliant piece of fiction

I've always wanted to do a fic that was just a 'day in the life of', particularly with Ianto, whose days are more ordered than most, IMO. The concept fitted this fic, I reckon! :)
