stupid stupid stupid

In attempting to go to the gym this morning (late as usual but not speeding), a policeman was nice enough to pull me over (at least he had a cute accent). See, I've been driving around for nearly 8 months with the licence sticker peeled off my (dad's) car. Someone randomly stole it, and my cheapskate dad didn't bother to replace it. He was planning to do that today.

Of course, this wouldn't have been a problem if I could have just found the ownership and insurance papers in the glove compartment, but I went temporarily blind apparently and couldn't see them. I looked through everything else, and yet missed the stupid little folder. At least the policeman was nice enough (or I looked pathetic enough) to give me the lesser fine, but still, a $65 ticket for sheer blind stupidity. Emphasis on the blind.

I came home, tried to turn on my computer, and got blue screen of death-ed (yes, I did curl up in a ball and cry. What is your point?). After winning the battle against whatever forces were attempting to kill my little blue friend here, I vetoed my rollerblades (didn't actually make it to the gym earlier, due to being 20 minutes late for the class, due to my lovely chat with Officer Australian) since with today's luck I'd probably have broken a bone, and went for a very long powerwalk instead. Because there is nothing exhaustion to remind a person that life is good (or at least, could be a whole lot worse).

I love this song, especially this line:

"I'm not saving grace, I use it all the time. Sometimes it gets misplaced, denies that it is mine. And then I just can't see, I get lost in misery, but it's just another day."
