Gary's Mom
mood: depressed
This past Saturday Gary's Mom was admitted to a hospital in Flagstaff, AZ with swelling in her legs and feet. They've finally finished running the tests. They found the expected blood clot, but also discovered that she has pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary fibrosis, which currently has no cure.

She'd been on a road trip with her brother and sister and their spouses. She hadn't been keen on going, but it was her brother's dream for them all to see the Grand Canyon together. The hospital stay was merely the latest of a string of disasters on the trip, which included two flat tires, the AC and the fridge in the RV dying, a cracked windshield and a truck veering into their lane and ripping off one of the rear-view mirrors.

Right now they're treating her with blood thinners and will keep her until they're sure that the clot is dissolved. Then comes a long rental car journey with her sister back to home in Fayetteville with an oxygen tank in tow. In the coming weeks we'll be in the process of helping her get her affairs together.

They Got her back to Tenn. and has a doctor appointment on Monday to see how long she has.

thank god where not in fagstaff anymore
