Ah, yes...when he cuts his finger with Narsil...I about jumped out of my seat when he said that the first time I saw the movie in theatres...of course, the thing that made me decide to give the books and the movies a try back in 2001 was because I saw him in the previews. :-)
I'm glad you finally got to enjoy that scene...better late than never! I'll confess, though, that when Boromir died, I about stood up in the theatre and shouted, "Sharpe can't die!!"

I know! I'd forgotten that he died (i know, i know) and I was so shocked - I was sure Boromir was in all the films!
Note to self: Pay more attention to what you watch.

The books can certainly be a chore to read at times, but the sheer beauty of the story is what keeps them tops on my all-time favourites.
