I feel your pain...... Doug never proposed to me. We were out at our favorite pizza place one afternoon, and while we were waiting for our order he said "Oh, by the way - I have something for you" and pushed the little velvet box across the table.

And then he got up because they called our order number.

But you know what? I still wouldn't trade that experience -- because that's just he way he is. One of my best friends from high school was flown to Paris and proposed to on top of the Eiffel Tower, then had a gigantic wedding on a beach in the Caribbean.

She was divorced two years later, because he was a lying, cheating POS.

Romance isn't all in the proposing..... it's in the fulfilling of promises. Its the husband who remembers that you've had a lousy day, so he picks up take-out on the way home so you don't have to cook. He's the guy who sits next to you in the hospital for hours when you're hurting and scared. The man who would be utterly lost without you.

They may not be the most romantic, but they're certainly the most lovable......
