L (moan): Dagobah...Dagobah
H (distant, shouting): Luke! Luke!
L;Wha?
H: Luke
L: Ben?
H: Luke! Whoa! (Tauntaun complains) Whoa. Hold it. Luke, speak to me kid! Here,c'mon sit up.
L: Ben? Han? Han.
H: Yeah it's me, its me.
L: It's cold, so cold. it's getting warmer.
H: No, Luke. That means you're freezing, C'mon fight it. Don't go to sleep on me!
Don't do this to me Luke, c'mon give me a sign! Stay with me. Stay with me. (Tauntaun groans)
Oh no, girl, don't you give me problems too! (Thud) The tauntaun's dead. Where's your lightsaber kid? I need it.
L: Ben? Yoda?
H: There's only one way to keep you warm until I can get the emergency shelter up. (Saber ignites) Sorry about this, girl. (Slurp) Okay Luke, I'm gonna have to shove you inside the carcass.
L: Dagobah...
H: (squishing and slurping sounds under line) This may smell bad, kid, but it will keep you alove until I can get the shelter built.
L: Yoda..
H: And I thought these tauntauns smelled bad on the outside...
(fade out)
(fade in)
H: (Breathing hard) Hold still Luke, I gotta give you a stimshot. There, that oughta take hold and bring you around in a second or two. (Into comlink) This is Solo to Base, Solo to Base. Command Center, I don't know if you can read me, but I've got Luke. He's alive. But my tauntaun is down for good. We're in an emergency shelter, d'you copy? The storm's kicking up pretty bad. I don't know if this hut can take it. Just...come for us as soon as you can. I've got the homing beacon on. Do your best for us, you guys.
L: (moans) Han?
H: Lay quiet Luke, there's not much room in here.
L: Han, I can't see!
H: You're snowblind, Luke. It'll pass. We'll get you taken care of soon, I promise. Keep that thermal wrapped around you. We gotta warm you up a little at a time.
L: Han, it would be you. How'd you find me?
H: Snoozin' in the snow, that's how I found you.
L: Nice going. You've got some sense of timing Solo. Where are we?
H: Emergency shelter. North side of the glacier.
L: Hope this thing holds up.
H: Well, i'm sorta hoping for the best, buddy.
L: Sure picked a great time to field test it, huh?
H: (chuckles) yeah, perfect. How you feeling?
L: (painedly) ugh. Terrific. Wanna go outside and get some calisthenics in before it gets too dark.
H: Sure. We could always play some tag.
L: (chuckle becomes a moan) Oh, how'd we get out here?
H: Tauntaun. There wasn't any other way. She didn't make it tho'.
L: So we're here until the weather breaks.
H: Yeah, that's about it.
L: (frightened) I can't feel my legs! (Breathing speeds up)
H: (calming) Luke, you're going to be ok. Not a whole lot more I can do for you with a medikit. But they'll put you through nerve therapy and they'll float you in a regenerative tank and you'll be as good as new.
L: (bitter) Too bad the nearest one's a couple of kilometers away through a bliz-
H: (cuts him off) No more talkin' like that! You're gonna make it, you hear? What happened to your face? You look like you walked into a rotor blade.
L: Oh. The wampa. Ice creature jumped me on the ridge and killed my tauntaun.
H: "How very rude" as Threepio would say.
L: (chuckles)
H: I hope you killed it right there.
L: Seemed like the right thing to do at the time. (Exhales.) Phew, what smells so bad in here?
H: (laughs) You. You spent a little time inside my tauntaun while I was having a house-raising party.
L: Well, i guess you can cancel all my social engagements for the evening. So what's your excuse this time, Han?
H: For what?
L: for coming out after me. I guess you can't claim it was the money this time.
H: I'll think of something.
L: (Fading) I'll bet you will. (Wind, shelter creaks) Wha?
H: (soft and intense) This hut's gonna hold. And you're gonna make it.
L: I.. I only wish I could have seen Leia. Said goodbye one last time.
H: I got an idea pal. Why don't you just settle down and relax, and tomorrow you can say hello to her instead?
(Fade out and music up)
In the liner notes, Mark comments that they'd put themselves into the physical position, and he delivered his lines in Cloud City hanging upide down. Makes ya wonder just how close he and Perry King had huddled at the microphone to deliver this section.
