I apologise for not keeping in touch as much as I would like. I have been very busy.
Last weekend I was the host for the leaders of various wizarding regiones in Northern Italia. There has been a dispute between Venezia and Firenze over land for many years. So finally, a resolution was reached, which is not a resolution. Everything stays as it is. The Malatesta of Bologna, and the Gonzaga of Mantova still are independent. I have made two new allies, and Venezia and Firenze have both left in bad humour. Now I have perhaps three days before Severus and Toyah leave for Britain, and Padma has to return to her apprenticeship, and I can spend time with my family.
Also, I am planning to visit Britain very soon. Perhaps a few days next week. I would like to see some old friends once again, if any of you are able to meet up, let me know?

The Gonzaga regent does indeed hate frogs. If I had known, of course, I would not have invited the delegates for a picnic by the lake. His sudden departure meant that I was free to negotiate on his behalf.

I think he was quite pleased with the result. As I said to him, he is now in a very strong position and the Gonzaga land is safe for the moment. The idiot was about to sign with Firenze, and that would have been disastrous for everyone. It would have brought the Medici and the Dandalo in direct border conflict, put pressure on the Malatesta, and also forced me to step out of my neutral alignment.
Instead, the Gonzaga and the Malatesta are going to support each other, they will hold that strip of land that separates Toscano and the Veneto.
Sorry if this is too much politics, but this is where we stand. It is important that you both know. We remain neutral, unless Venezia or Firenze decide to push their advantage. At that point we will support the smaller regiones. I can only hope that they do not both decide to advance at the same time.

I have stirred up a lot of trouble, I think. I am still testing everything for poison. Also, the sooner that Toyah is out of Italia, the better.
