I'm not sure that I'd put "complex" and "spontaneous" at opposite ends of the same axis. Spontaneous can still be complex - it's just not planned, which might be a more appropriate word than complex. Preferring light humor to dark humor, I can see.. though I do appreciate things like Dr. Strangelove. I also agree with preferring clean humor to vulgar humor, though I think most of the time it's that clean humor has to be funny and vulgar is too often expected to be funny just from being vulgar, which is not the case. George Carlin's famous "Seven Words" routine might be vulgar, but it's funny and intelligent, not just vulgar for vulgarity's sake.
