Outdone...
Yep, did the NationStates thing. Mainly to poke some fun at it. I don't see it as realistic but more as a window into the author's (of the game) beliefs.
So "Put Out That Light" was chosen as a name to go under "Spotlight on" and to clash with "Free Land." Also, the animal and currency were chosen to make the line(s) about them read in an amusing way: "Put Out That Light's national animal is the damnedest thing and its currency is the bomb."
But I wasn't expecting this bit: "The Free Land of Put Out That Light is a tiny, socially progressive nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare." Although this is no longer the line being reported (now it's absence of drug laws), I found it very amusing.
