Cukes and Nukes

A brief, but delicious visit to the Plot tonight after work. I could feel the BigWeather(tm) moving in with the strong breeze and the eerie light, but I took a chance and about 45 minutes to spend a delicious few moments puttering by myself listening to my iPod's "Green Gardening" mix I made last year.

I mounded up all 20 potatoes - the dirt is now flush with the bed, having filled in all the deep holes in which I planted the seed potatoes weeks ago.

I turned over the dirt in half the bed that once housed bunching onions and planted edamame.

I turned over the dirt and made three mounds to plant the cucumbers, an interesting heirloom variety my sister gave me for christmas called "Lemon".

I learned from last year to put the cucumbers in the area of the garden where they will receive the most light, as they languished in the shade.

so. Just as I was watering in the new seeds, it began to rain. Thank goodness.
