Ugly Got Good To Me
Today was pretty darn productive. I accomplished laundry, vacuuming, a quick clean of the kitchen, a second-round interview (which seemed rather positive), and some general organizing. Also acheived finding a hideous dress and hideous (though EXTREMELY comfy) shoes for the show, as well as some cheapo accessories. The dress is a wrap-type top with sleeves which are tight to the elbow and then flare in little fluttery nonsense. The hemline is roughly my knee. The pattern is, well, imagine if you made a floral out of leopard print. The shoes are leopard print, open-toed, in "pony" - that leather where they don't remove the fur. They have a really stupid 1" heel that looks like a fat plastic nipple on a miniature boob. I'll be adding sequins to the dress to make it more 'dressy'. Oh you just watch me!
Plus, I got a rather nice dress for me...it's got cap sleeves, a soft geometric pattern of white-on-black, a lettuce-edged skirt, and an adjustable gathery waist with a wrap-style top. VERY figure flattring.
My other accomplishment was creating a really tasty pasta salad. Nothing fancy, just sort of using up this and that.
Tomorrow, I have a 2 hour appointment at the dentist. One REALLY bad cavity, one mid-level bad one, and three minor ones (surface only). Providing she does the same quality of work on me this time as she did last time, I should be just fine for my rehearsal tomorrow night. Though I may have to take it easy on the dancing.
Also tomorrow: my dear friend Katy from Houston lands in Boston! Hopefully her mother, with whom she is travelling, has left a few minutes free in their schedule for me to meet up with her. Yay!
