took leave and accompanied grandma (popo) to hospital, with grandpa (gong gong) in tow.
her stomach was aching and ultrasound reveal stones in her kidney. she was referred to hospital by the polyclinic and because no one was free to send them, i did.
allow me to digress a lil, but this trip to a govt hospital further affirms my decision to give birth at private hosp, if i got preg that is. i cant imagine myself waiting hours for my turn, be it consultation or followups, much less, during the actual giving birth.
we spent 4 hours in the damn hospital. it was a tiring wait, not so for my popo who is suppose to be the patient but more for my gonggong. He was all grumpy and whiny, complaining in intervals of 15mins thereabt.
i thought to myself, if he is so reluctant abt waiting, why did he want to accompany popo? he shd juz wait at the comfy of his own home. i guess its all abt love.
he whines, yet do all the nitty gritty stuff for popo. like collecting her med for her so that grandma can continue sitting down, paying for her etc. things that we take for granted, however, seems more precious when its done by an old man of his age. at least, thats somethng my daddy wun do for my mommy, but my gonggong wud, for popo.
50 years down the road, will my own hubby still accompany me to the doc when im sick, like he does now? i sure hope he does. like my gonggong and popo.
we end the day out with a happy note. popo's alright! the stone in her kidneys were tiny, negligible. nothng worth worrying abt. doctor says stones of that size need no surgery. these stones sometimes get flushed out of the body on their own, just got to monitor and if it doesnt grow any bigger, everything's gona be alright.
whew.
