I no longer value what I used to, really. Easy to dismiss what you've got a lot of, of course. Anyway, it boils down to simple truths for me, more and more. So tell me, what are yours?
My 10 11 Truths Meme
1. One of the greatest comforts in life is that it will end one day.
2. Suicide is always an option, even when everyone tells you it's not. Everyday you don't kill yourself, you make the choice to reenlist.
3. (A) Everyone is motivated by their own self-interest. While it's (to varying degrees) a benevolent kind of malice, at the end of the day, you don't ultimately matter. Therefore, (B) you can't depend on other people for anything ever.
4. A strong cup of hot tea, music, and an unobstructed view out of a window can do a lot to put the world in perspective.
5. You claw out your own destiny with your own hands. If it's not working, you're either approaching the situation incorrectly or not trying hard enough.
6. Some wounds can't be healed, only endured.
7. Nothing is more rare or precious in life than trust and love, and nothing is more easily lost than those two things.
8. The only thing more contemptible than betrayal is cowardice.
9. The root of all anger is disappointment.
10. You are responsible for your own thoughts and actions and, even when they're disgraceful, it's spineless to hide from or deny them. Step up to the fucking plate.
11. Misanthropes, outcasts, and damaged people are romanticized and idealized in fiction, but no one wants them in reality; that's why they're misanthropes, outcast, and damaged.
