For those of you who don't follow video game news like it's your job, but are still interested, FF-XIII.net has posted the new FFXII and FFVersusXIII trailers.
Final Fantasy XIII trailer
The second playable character is shown here, along with what looks like one of the most kick-ass versions of Shiva that I've ever seen. Real time game play is also shown, confirming my initial impressions that the the battle system will be very similar to FFX-2 and FFXII in style.

So much new footage here, including the confirmation that our lovely prince does in fact have the much-rumored teleporting power. Not to mention the power to kick ass with an utter disregard for gravity. Interestingly enough, in the initial trailer it was raining when he went out to confront the soldiers. That appears to have been edited out, and they seem to have minorly tweaked his facial features. Of course, I only think you notice if you've spent as much time staring at him as I have. Sadly, there is still no word on confirmation of Storm's the main character's name.
Requests have been made for a PSP version of the trailers so that I can stare at them on the train ride home, but none have been released thus far. Both trailers are also up on YouTube.
In other FF-related news, there' still no confirmation of the US release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. I've heard mutterings of summer 2008, but I don't recall from whom. Also, I have heard no further release news for Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep or Kingdom Hearts: Coded (and if you think I'm ignoring KH 358/2, then you're correct; I am). Someone let me know if you've seen anything?
2008 promises to be a good year for gaming.
