This was perfect especially after watching the finale episode! You really get the Doctor. It appears that he does need Fitz. We already know that he needs someone, but if he's got a companion that knows the ropes, that's even better.

This is what broke my heart: The Doctor leaned back. And laughed - a quiet and hopeless sound.

“I lost a war, Fitz,” he confessed. “Over and over again.”

Poor, poor Ten. The Time War will never end. *sighs* He needs a cuddle!

Quick grammar check: And there was a darkness beneath the Doctor’s carefree behaviour he hadn’t noticed before - not to this extend. Extent?
