Rec-a-weekend 2015 | Week 10

Mar 08, 2015 12:36

So I kind of skipped weeks 5 through 9. That's because I broke my wrist and am only now slowly regaining the ability to type with both hands. It's not like anyone reads these anyway, so I feel that's a good enough excuse.

Title: Your Name on Every Wall
Author: Sineala
Fandom: Marvel Comics
Characters/Pairings: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark
Summary: The Time Gem throws Steve into the past rather than the future, and in doing so, it gives him the opportunity to undo his past mistakes. But when it turns out that all of his mistakes involve Tony Stark, Steve begins to wonder if he's ever going to be able to mend things between them.
Wordcount: 17.863
Why it's awesome: A story that deals with everything that has gone wrong between Steve and Tony in the past - and not just the recent past. A story in which Steve thinks that all it takes for the world to become a better place is for Tony to change, only to find that, surprisingly, it's not that easy, and it takes two to have a conflict. Bonus happy ending. I like the Steve of this story because he has an ability for self-refection that canon Steve lacks all too often.
