Summary: So... Happy and Butterfly were talking about first days on the job, and how much the Rays have in common, and... this happened.

Why it's awesome: I love stories that deal with the unexplored past of the characters. I also have a weakness for stories in which characters meet before they do in canon. This is a great example of both. It's interesting to see Ray and Ray interact without Fraser, Stella and all their other issues getting in the way. The story provides an interesting view on the way Kowalski grew up and an equally interesting indirect view on Vecchio's life at the time.
