I got my Kindle Fire HD today, and the first thing I did was buy and app that lets me create and edit word documents on it. So now I can write on the train, and for the first time in weeks I actually wrote fic. Oh, that feels good! :D

Still limited on time, and currently only working with the virtual keyboard, which isn't meant for quick and massive ( Read more... )

LOL! You described accurately, but apart from the job being stressful and underpaid everything is okay. At least I feel valued? And half my office has the flu too, so I'll get it sooner or later, heh. And I'm really glad the migraines are over, I've had a couple in my life and it's truly terrible.

Ugh, a chest cold with your line of work must be awful. But is the gym in your workplace? Can't you call in sick and go to the gym anyway? The best of both worlds! And your priorities are perfectly allright Working in the gym opens the lungs and you'll probably feel a lot better.

The very little I know about Civil Wars (thanks to my hubby) that ironman and Captain America were in opposite factions. And I was disappointed to discover Ironman wanted the Registration, because I adore him from the movies (I liked Captain America too, but just a little less). But I'm sure there's more behind the story so I'll probably agree with your view. After all, we tend to agree in how we see the characters!! You'll probably pull me into a new fandom with your story!

Oh, are you still not watching Merlin? You really really really should! This season is being such a delightful (yet intense) treat! It's what's keeping my high spirits week after week. I'm kind of avoiding all SPN S8 fics right now but I give me all the Merlin ones!

Still not watching Merlin. I'm going to once November's over. November is NaNo month, so I'm too busy writing if I'm not studying or at work.

Yes, Tony was pro-registration. It's complicated, though. His reasons are actually pretty understandable, even if we ignore the fact that he supported the law in order to prevent an alternative that was worse and that he consciously decided to be the bad guy in this because someone had to be. (Also, the idea that people are held accountably for their actions is not necesarily a bad one. It was just executed in all the worst ways here.) If you want to, I can eMail you one issue that explains both Steve and Tony's view on the whole disaster pretty well, without really taking a side.

Altogether, Civil War is also known as the big, bad break-up fight between Captain America and Iron Man. The issue I mentioned above was once accurately described as "Like a slash fic with fistfights instead of sex."

My general stance on the work/gym situation is: if you're well enough to go to the gym, you're well enough to go to work. Even if they demand very different things of my body. And are in different cities...

I really admire the people who do NaNo, it must be stressful and I think I'm too inconsistent to commit to something that big, but I know you can do it!

And please send me that Avengers issue. That way I can understand both sides. But just with what you said about Tony posing at the bad guy on purpose you nearly sold it to me. As you know I love that kind of self-sacrifyicing characters! Also, I want to know what's in Tony's POV the worse alternative than registration, which at first sight seems something awful to me (maybe I'm biased because of what registration means to X-men).

Your stance on Gym and work is commendable, but I guess I'm not that good of a person? heh, anyway I hope you get better soon! Drink lots of honey and milk!

Things at the workplace just generally got worse, since todday not only were we all ordered to do overtime for at least 4 hours every week (on top of the 4 hours we're supposed to do every other Saturday anyway) until the end of the month, we were also informed that everyone who calls in sick is a horrible human being lazing aroud while their co-workers have to do even more overtime to compensate for it.
So yay.
Did I mention that I really, really hate my job?

I'm going to send you a couple of files, then! Just you wait, I'll get you converted after all. :D

Geez, that's emotional blackmail and exploitation. It's really no wonder you feel like that because after listening to you I hate your work too. Is it too much to expect you are at least paid for all the overtime?

But don't let them make you worse okay? if you feel shitty, call in sick before it gets serious (and they can go eff themselves) because your health is what's really important here.

I'll be expecting the files! We will see if I fall into the rabbit hole! ;P

Sadly, I'd feel bad if I called in sick while I can still walk. Maybe I'm lucky and they'll fire me.
Yeah, the overtime is paid. But the overall payment for the job is so bad it's hardly worth getting out of bed for.

I'm working on the eMail right now. Assuming you don't know all that much about the background, I'm adding some information for your general understanding. I'll be done in a couple of minutes.
