Things I Watched Lately

No cuts, because they're not long and don't actually contain spiolers.

Two things that deserve mention:

Doctor Who: The Eleventh Hour

I finally watched it today. I wasn't in a hurry because despite having liked every Doctor so far, I couldn't bring myself to be exited. Also, the break since the last full series was a little bit too long, and there was the epic, dramatic goodbye to Ten in between, and I was a little put off because I couldn't get over the last minute of End of Time, with Evelen starting so happy after Ten had ended to sad. But now I've seen this, and I was quite happy myself. It's still the Doctor and I still love him. Amy seems okay too. And we already got the theme for this series' ongoing plotline. It sounds epically-scaled and onmiously vague as always. We'll see.

I'm actually glad I didn't watch it before, since now I don't have to wait for the next episode. Hah.

Also seen not long ago: Night of the Lepus

No, really. For those who don't know, it's a bad horror movie from the early seventies about a horde of giant rabbits eating people. Or just killing them randomly, I guess, because they never seemed to do anything with the bodies but leave them lying around.
I came across a youtube link for it and thought, "Well, why not?" It was Easter, which seemed like a good time to watch a movie about murderous bunnies, and I had nothing better to do.

Do I regret it? Hell, no!

I actually enjoy bad horror movies from time to time, and this one was very bad. They had a guy in a bunny suit for close ups, and gratiously used orange paint to smear it over the bunny-victims to tell the viewers they had been horribly slaughtered. Orange juice + torn clothes = dead. It's a simple equation.

They also had an annoying little girl that was to blame for everything and constatly got into danger. Of course. She was one of those movie-kids you just want to be eaten, quickly, before she can open her mouth another time and it just. Dosen't. Happen. Crap. (Okay, that was a spoiler right there. But I guess who's ever seen a movie like that can't have expected anything else.)

Most actors were so brilliant that their reaction to the threat of death through house-sized moster bunnies was to wear a slightly worried frown on their faces. Hardly anyone meeting them unexpectedly actually seemed shocked. I had fun!

The reason I watched this one was because I knew DeForest Kelley was in it, in a minor role and sporting a moustache. It wasn't as bad as I'd expected it to be. (The moustache, I mean. The movie itself totally didn't disappoint my expectations of badness.) Actually, he was kind of adorable in this. I'm probably biased because I like him, though. Still, despine not having an awful lot to do and never being unexpectedly exposed to killer rabbits, he still came across as a much better actor than just about everyone else. This migth have been supported by avoiding the Epic Fail Secenes and the Annoying Little Brat.
