The dark night of the soul
Behold the LORD, who is just. He punishes the sinful and chastizes the wrong. His hand smites me, for I am sinful and the lowest of the low. Oh LORD, why was I not wise? Now I suffer your punishment and am alone. This path, dark and lonely, is far from the LORD, who despises the evil and the sinful and those who engage in illicit sex, meat eating, gambling and other activities that are against His will. Indeed, the LORD will send me to Hell for I am unrepentent. Oh LORD, now I repent! Will you not open your arms for me?
