We were expecting delivery of the new couch on Friday evening... and while the delivery did indeed happen, it didn't go nearly as expected.
J got the call Friday afternoon that our couch piece of the set was damaged in shipping, so we would not receive delivery of that until Sunday. The loveseat and corner wedge pieces were still set for delivery on Friday night - between 4:30-7:00pm. J had a training event that night, so I made sure to be home. At 5:30pm, J texted me, "Couch delivered yet??" to which I responded, "Not yet..." At 6:30pm, I texted J to say, "Still no couch!" and he replied, "Seriously?" At 7pm, J texted me to let me know the furniture company called him to let him know that the loveseat and wedge somehow didn't make it onto the delivery truck, but the driver was headed back to pick it up and we should expect it within the hour (that would be: by 8pm). At 8:30pm, the truck finally arrived. The guys hauled the two pieces up to the condo, and low and behold... the wedge was the wrong color! Lol. The driver looked at it, rather dumbfounded, shook his head and said, "We'll just leave it for now... they can pick it up when they deliver the couch."
On Sunday, the new corner wedge and couch arrived. Yay! Dang, though... that set is a bit bigger than we thought. It manages to fit into the space, and we love it. It is just SO comfortable! And the corner wedge has been officially named the "Kitty Corner," 'cause Phantom has taken up residence there.
J has been having a great time playing Craigslist salesman. He decided to start selling off anything at his house that we don't have room for, or need of, at the condo. It's been going so well (posting ads, and selling things within hours, or by the next day), he's starting to look around his place with the thought, "What else can I sell??" heh.
Speaking of selling... I've been going through my CD collection and thinking about the fact that I really don't listen to my CD's any more. For the most part, I listen to
Pandora. It's still handy to have CD's - for road trips and the rare occasion when I want to hear a whole album - but in all honesty, I haven't listened to most of my CD's in years. I think it's time to consider the options for getting rid of them... I'd love to hear what anyone has to say regarding pros/cons of various used music stores, pawn shops, online (eBay/Craigslist) options, etc.
