Ok so I go to beauty college and I hear and see hair horror stories sometimes. I've got two today.
This 20 year old woman comes in today. She had this knot in her hair that was matted by the devil. What she did was she got out of the shower and didn't bother to comb it. She just threw it up in a bun and slept on it and left it up for 3 days. She also has super thick long hair too. Like down to the middle of her back I think. She comes in asking us to de-tangle her hair. We've got two of our older students working on her at the same time doing everything they can. For over an hour they worked on this lady. Finally one of our instructors Lisa came over and looked at it and decided the only thing they could do for this poor girl was to cut it off. Lisa cut this matted hair off and brought it over to our class to see. It was like a foot long of hair. There was this hard, matted lock of hair probably the size of the palm of my hand. It was harder than any dread lock I've ever felt, it was horrible! And the funny part about this story is that she is coming in next month to be a student here.
Our instructor Lisa [mentioned before] was telling me and my friend about the worst unkept hair she's ever seen. She said when she was 15 she lived next door to these people who didn't really keep up with their things. She said that the parents were very neglectful. They had a daughter who was mentally challenged and to be nice, Lisa decided to clean her up one day because the girl's parents didn't really take good care of her. So Lisa is about to do her hair and she parts it and there are COCKROACHES crawling around in this poor girls hair! Ranging from like half inch to about 2 inch sized cockroaches. Lisa said that was the only time in her life where she has had to tell off someone's parents. Seriously how could you let your child get to that poor of condition? The little girl was only 6 or something, plus she was mentally challenged and couldn't really talk, so she couldn't tell anyone she had bugs in her hair. Lisa said she probably wasn't even aware she had them. Its really sad when you think about it.
