You think maybe he was the one they should have tried saving.

Always were the voice of reason, Lex. Of course on SV that makes you evil.

Oh my there's a hint of necrophilia going on up in there. A woman after my own heart ... I hereby subtitle this fic "Well Worth the Dig" and that's only funny if you've seen the movie Quills.

Davis is more perceptive than Clark.

Well, so are houseplants ...

Heh Lex watches him sleep.

He has a conscience, not a list of principles.

Nail on head there.

...Then get close enough to touch *me*

Ahem.

She had him. She wanted him and what he made her feel. But when it came down to it, her phobias won her over and she did what she was told. She threw Davis away so easily. That dead one was the boy you remember. That boy was your only friend.

I love you, Lex. This is the best shit that ever happened.

t strikes you that you aren’t thinking of Clark. You haven’t been thinking of Clark for a very long time.

Well how could he? I love the Davis thing. How it's easy to think you have the upper hand with him because everything depends on your ability to save him, but you just can't get the upper hand with him, because he's so powerful you can't really stop him and because he's so sympathetic there's no having the heart to anyway. It's fascinating.

....

Okay Lex being affected by Davis suffering and dying with his conscience intact and the constant need to do some good.... this is a big opportunity SV missed and they could have easily done it with Chloe. If they'd written a better storyline and death for him it could have given much more momentum and impact to the greater story arc, to introduce Zod and to use the Davis story to show us just how evil he is to have forced this existence on his only son. Davis works well here though as being the final thing that pushes Lex over the edge. First there was the Kryptonian that rejected him and then there was the one that loved him that he watched suffer.

Also Lex making new Davis' is both sickly parental and fucked up and glorious and awesomely Lexish. This is all just dark and fucked up in the most satisfying of ways. Also, man sex!
