goodbye, sweet Roast Beef

So I'm not a huge animal lover or anything. I like my cat but in general I am indifferent towards most other people's animals with few exceptions.

One of those exceptions was the cat Matt and Julie got Regan for her birthday- Roast Beef.

She was the nicest cat ever. She would let you pet her for hours on end, she would stretch out and pull herself around in little circles so that you could pet her head all the way down to her stomach or tail, repeat. I only ever heard her actually meow once in 4 months and that was at a neighbour cat who came on the porch. Every other meow was silent except for the sound of her opening her mouth. She was so friendly and lovable that it was common to for people who went inside from parties on the porch to lose track of how long they were inside because they ended up petting her and just lost track of everything else.

She was great for Regan - patient, docile and good natured. That kid could drag her around or furiously pet her or stick her face right in Roast Beef's and she would just sit there and purr.

I don't know what the rest of her life was like, she was 4 when they got her in May, but she's wasn't even my cat and I am crying again while I type this. At least her last 4 months she was with a family who loved her and lots of us satellite folks who did as well.

She stopped eating early last week and they pills for her liver they got on Friday weren't enough to turn it around.

Poor little wonderful kitty. She will be missed and will be one tough cat to bump out of top spot when it comes to the pets of others.
