On Sunday I brought Pooter home with me. Things have been going surprisingly well! He kept me up until 6am the first night, and wakes me up every night around 4 because he's bored/ronery and demands that I do something about it. The first couple of days, Sekou wouldn't come near him. She hissed and made mean noises, and Pooter would make some back ( Read more... )

also sometimes your period will come out dirty brown when youre on the pill, especially when you first started and your body is getting used to having your cycle adjusted. i dont know exactly why, maybe someone who knows actual biology terms for whats going on will clarify for me, but creepy dark period has totally happened to me before, i think its pretty normal

Thanks for your input!! I definitely am bad about taking shit at the same time every day because I don't wake up at the same (I probably should, to get myself into a routine). BUT if I can take it at night without it making me hyper, that would be awesome!

Any particular reason why you switched brands? Do you happen to know if they're making generics yet?

If they aren't making generics, talk to your gyno about stacking. I take Ortho-Cyclen, and until I got sick of the cost stacking up, too, I'd take 3 months of active pills, back to back, then lay off for a week. It worked out pretty well for me, and the cost of 3 packs of something that they do make generics for might be less than 1 pack of something name-brand if you're paying out of pocket.

Ohh good call! I actually used to skip the placebos every now and then... don't know why I didn't think of that!

this totally works, i did this before with yaz/yasmin. sometimes insurance companies are total assholes about this though, sucks

i switched brands because seasonale and seasonique are slightly different, i think seasonique has more hormones in the period week of pills so the shift isnt as harsh for me

and i have no idea about generics. i actually have no health insurance and i get my pills for free from my doula aunt that works at a gyno office, so i dont even know how much they cost normally
