HI FLIST NEED YOUR HELP.
previous and current fanfic/fanvid/fanart fans (regardless of fandom) are encouraged to respond!
i am thinking abt writing a paper on how, through fandom, a certain type of fan is created. a queer fan, if you will. and here i'm using queer as anti-normative, not necessarily gay (although gayness can SO be a part of it. but for the purposes of this paper, i want to focus on nonsexual queerness). to get me started thinkign about it, i ask YOU:
1. do/did you feel like a different kind of fan because of your involvement in fandom? ((for example, if your fandom was X-MEN, and you met other fans of X-MEN, do/did you ever feel different/marginalized/weird/perverted/more intense because of your love for creating/consuming fanfic/fanvids/fanart?))
2. have/do you ever felt the need to hide your involvement in fandom?
3. what do/did you like about fandom?
4. do you see a significant difference between Real Person Fiction and stuff like Harry Potter/House/X-Men?
5. if you're comfortable saying, what are/were your fandoms?
any contribution is MUCH appreciated. ♥
