Rummage Sale
I was at the rummage sale this morning until around Noon. We were outside so it was a little cold but thankfully sunny most of the time and not any rain or *gasp* snow! Things seemed kind of slow, but then again, it was Saturday morning. I hope things picked up over the afternoon. There was a lot of great stuff donated. There were a bunch of tables just full of clothing!
This sixty or so year old womyn came by with her son and looked around. The womyn finally decided on a pair of shoes.... a pair of leopard print shoes....a pair of leopard print platform sneakers....which she decided to buy and wear home. This is just so excellent to see this older womyn walking away in her leopard print platform sneakers! Also, she left the shoes she was wearing with us and told us to sell them! and they were rather nice looking shoes that she had. Sometimes, I just love people. They can be so quirky.
It was a lot of fun being together with the Vag ladies though. We are all getting to know each other more and just all around having a good time. I mean, where else do you end up comparing bra and breast sizes in public but with fantabulous Vaginalogue people! lol ;-) Ok, i'm sure there are other places... I've just never been to them!
It seems that I have been recruited to write for the F-Word, the Women's Issues Network online publication. (Click here for November's issue in .pdf format)
So I have a meeting to go this week to better discuss things. It sounds interesting and I'm looking forward to it. Look at me with my Feminism turned on and outward! :-)
Also starting up at WIN is the Lazy Feminist Book Club. It is lazy because we aren't reading books but articles, because, really, who has time for books? lol! I'm going to check that out Monday night. If anyone else on campus is interested it is being held at the WIN office in UCC on Monday night at 6pm. Bring some snacks and it'll be a good time!
