Here I am at the CIT again. I'm about a 12th of the way through entering that data I need to enter, maybe a little less. I'm not used to data entry...that's why I went into the social sciences--we don't HAVE any data!
But no, right now, i'm entering in facts about the mayor schedule into excell. so that I can make pretty graphs. so that i can, in theory, write a 20 page paper. So that I can, in theory, get class credit for the internship that i've spent 9 hours a week working. Of course this is acedemia, and practical exprerience and practical work-related knowledge don't count for anything unless you can extapolate useless and generalizable information about The Nature of the Field (tm). Uch...
So yeah, this weekend i'll live here. the CIT's in 24 hour mode as of today, so i'll be getting up early and taking the walk over here, away from the destractions (read: normal, life affirming social interactions)of King House. When I finish the data entry, i'll start on the reasearch for my OTHER 20 page paper. sigh. THe hours of campaigning will be A SNAP.
I wonder if anyone has ever actually DIED of boredom.
At least I have a meeting street cookie to keep me happy. Tomorrow it'll be sour patch kids. Fuck this diabetes crap, i have academics to think about!!
