so close but yet so far
I'm alone in my office right now, after waiting for about a half hour for someone to come and unlock the door?
Where is everyone else? at a fundraising event for John Kerry. And I'm stuck here.
Understand that this is RHODE ISLAND. Presidential hopefulls don't COME here. In fact, we are one of only 3 states that President Bush hasn't visited.
The truth is, we have only 4 electoral votes and the chance that any of them will NOT be given to a democrat is very slim. We're the most solidly democratic state in the Union (also the most catholic, isn't that interesting?). It's just not worth the visit for most people.
So the one time in goodness knows how long that a presidential hopeful came to DOWNTOWN PROVIDENCE, i'm "at work" in the Mayors office, with nothing to do but post to livejournal. The mayor himself is, of course, at Kerry's event. You'd think that my working here would help me gain access to events like these. But you'd think wrong.
