Fredericksburg and the beginning of a happy birthday

Mar 31, 2004 13:43

It's nice to have a healthy dose of spontaneity in one's life, so I hopped the metro to union station and caught a local train to Fredericksburg to see a friend that I hadn't seen in a good couple of years.  After a brief phone call at a quarter to 11 that ended with "ok, i'll see you at 2:28" I left DC.

we wandered though a town written for fairytales and one-hit-wonders of primetime sitcoms )

happy birthday! ... i like fredericksburg. although the train station is on the corner of caroline & fredericksburg streets, so i always feel like the town is parodying me. i'll be down there on friday, charlottesville actually, if you're still around & want to come hear some bluegrass saturday night... hehehe...That's really cute. I hadn't noticed. Sadly I'll be gone before you come to town; I'm leaving at 1pm on friday afternoon. though we should spend more time together up in RI. I bet we can find some not-nearly-as-authentic bluegrass
