lately i've started to really feel that people seriously need to loosen up. it's completely ridiculous to suspect that the mailman intentionally didn't deliver a letter b/c it's from a jewish organization, unless he has a lot of evidence to suspect so. notice i said "mailman" and not "mail-person". i also think that politically correct terminology is seriously detrimental to making any real change. you can say "african-american" instead of "black", OR you can actually deal with breaking down racism in society. i used to get really pissed off when people said "that's so gay", but lately i've realized that most of the time, people don't actually mean it. it's when they DO that you have to call them on it. and it's more important to deal with what causes these underlying prejudices than to point fingers and yell at people for not watching their language. if someone really hates gay people i'd rather they admitted it and attempted to justify it than be forced into silence so that their bigotry could never be exposed. i don't give a shit if people make sexists jokes they don't mean, and i consider myself more than just a feminist.

as for the dog thing, that is really horrendous, and there probably was no dog.
