[08] [video] a little unexpected

Sep 06, 2010 23:09

[Forward-dated to tomorrow afternoon-ish, because I'm impatient. The camera clicks on to a scene near the edge of Azalea Town, with its owner jumping back in surprise -- but apparently not in time, as something lifts the camera-holder up in the air, and he goes flying a good few feet in the air and down to the ground. Flat on his ass, apparently.] ( Read more... )

it's not flare scarab, bugs are cool, # azalea town, horn attack to the balls

That fall did look like it hurt...

Just a little.

[He grins in an attempt to brush it off.]

I'll live, though.

[She puts her hand on the screen, as if she were patting his head.] Feel better soon!

Hahaha, thanks, Rika.

Well, at least I got a cool bug out of the deal! He'll be pretty tough when I get him up to the level of my others.

By the way he was fighting, he really will be tough!

Can't use him against Falkner, though. He'd get creamed, and not only because his level is too low right now.

...But hey, I'll see what I can do with him. If he could fling me up in the air like that and do the number he did to Puff even with the level disadvantage he had, then he'll definitely turn out pretty awesome.

Is his type at a disadvantage?

I think so too! He definitely has promise.

Double disadvantage, if I'm looking at this thing right. I'm checking his stats out, and the Pokedex says he's a Bug and a Fighting-type, and those are both weak to Flying. So if I'm thinking right, he'll probably take four times the damage to a Flying-type move.

That's what it sounds like. In that case, it really would be best not to have him fight.

That's what I'm thinking... I've got Flare, Feather, and Thrasher though, at least, so I should be able to handle him with those three. I'm not sure he'll be strong enough to take on Falkner by then anyway, but I'll do my best to train him up!

I also have Morph and Puff -- I think Puff will make a good backup by that time, but Morph just hatched a little while ago, so I'll have to keep him on the sidelines to watch.

It sounds like you're ready!

I'm sure Morph will learn a lot just by watching!

More than ready. I'm gonna take him down! I've been waiting for it and watching everyone else have their battles, and I'm really excited for my turn!!

Like Thrasher did when he was a Magikarp! Except... he couldn't do a whole lot at that point until he evolved. At least Morph is learning quickly, and he's figuring out how to use situations to his advantage.

Pokemon battles are a lot like the dueling we did at home, so I feel like it's pretty easy for me to adapt.

Johan told me about the dueling that you did at home a while ago. I can see how that would be very similar to pokémon battles.

Ahh, did he? Yeah, that kind of made it easy to adjust, you just have to change your way of thinking and strategizing a little bit. Both of them involve thinking on your feet and making quick decisions.

I'd say I've gotten pretty good at it, though. It won't ever be dueling, but it's pretty fun, if you ask me.

[He beams proudly, if ever-so-slightly arrogantly.]
