The open road calls...

Some of us, like me, think of our cars as an extension of ourselves.  Many others don't obsess quite so much over their cars, but still love to drive and heed the call of the open road whenever possible.  The website I'm about to point out to y'all appeals to both, and it's called motorcycleroads.us.

MotorcycleRoads.us features roads submitted by its user community that are well-suited for a Sunday cruise.  They're split into categories - Scenic, Sweepers, Twisties, and Off-Road.

Check the site out, and post in the comments your favorite drive close to you.  I'll start - I live in Richmond, VA, and the best drive close to me is  VA Route 5.  Route 5 is a two-lane highway that connects downtown Richmond and downtown Williamsburg, and it's an incredibly beautiful drive.  There are lots of interesting plantations along the way, lots of tree cover, and interesting things to do at both ends of the road.  Those of you in the Central Virginia area should check it out!
