portfolio question

I figure I will put together a portfolio site but... I seriously know zero about the art world beyond the internet. So I will ask

Are my character design tendencies too... idk, distracting? Namely, Santiago and more specifically his long hair and humanyness, since I draw him so much

I know better than to include overly disney-influenced pictures

How many pieces should I have? Should I separate my traditional media from digital even though I don't have much from the previous category? about how many pieces per section?

How about simple pictures, with nondescript textured backgrounds?

Commissions/gift art? it might be a silly question but related to the santiago concern... I love this, but would it raise questions like "why does this cat have hair and green stripes?" IDK I like this level of anthropomorphism, obviously, but... i wonder if its lack of familiarity beyond the internet would be a stumbling block?

How about icons, like the one I'm using now on this post? I really like this style, but should I just do something larger with it?

I want to include some of the better folk art drawings (e.g. not the ones I have done on commission LOL, though there is one of those I do like quite a bit)

unrelated, but now due to recent events I really wish this were in arabic script instead: http://fav.me/d2yicwb
