Beer festival and other happy times

Hello again, Livejournal! I'm going to update you!

This weekend was my mom-in-law's birthday, so Jim and I and the folks-in-law celebrated at a beer festival in Butler! Although there were no beers that truly stood out, everything was perfectly tasty. We also visited a toy store afterward, and Jim's mom bought a little penguin for me! It is so cute!

On Wednesday last week, Jim, Tom and I went to a theater to celebrate the 70th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz. I guess I hadn't seen the movie since I was a kid, because I didn't remember much of anything about it. It was much funnier and timeless than I expected it to be. Before they showed the movie, they showed a documentary about it. All in all, it was a fun time.

And lastly, the Steelers game was disappointing. They were kicking the Bengals' butt in the first half, but everything fell apart after that. The ref called pass interference when the Steelers were on offense, repeating the second down, and the Bengals intercepted the ball! What the hell?? That was the turning point, from my view. If that hadn't happened I think we would have won.

So that's my little update. I finished reading Animal, Vegetable, Miracle and would like to start a garden next spring. I've started with my little pot of basil, and I'm giving the little guy lots of encouragement and water. It seems to be working, and our little basil is lush and healthy!

Bye for now Livejournal!
