I've been doing something with the written word! Honest! Very gradually, my own wizarding world is taking shape. In this particular alternate universe, the general shape of history is similar to ours, but there are just a few people with a recessive gene for magic. In England, they're considered useful citizens; in general, they're not allowed to join the military, and not just everyone would want one marrying their sister. In this particular story, Russia left behind a village of magical clockmakers as the Kaiser's forces advanced, and Germany was not, at the time, keen on warlocks.

Next up, an ebook of the same title, followed by the novella based, now rather loosely, on Eileen Loves Toby. Very few presses these days publish novellas, and even fewer make any money for the author on them, so I'm trying out Lulu for the fun of it.
