Random stuff #1: A big public Thank You to Gina and Julie! Sleeper and shirts and The Poky Little Puppy, O my! The note with the sleeper expressed a hope we didn't have too many dog-themed everythings, and there's no such thing as far as keeping the little fellow dressed is concerned, but the funny part is his Gran had nearly bought him the same sleeper and then didn't. For things that run from shoulder to heel, he's pretty much in six-month sized clothes now, so the sleeper and the shirts were perfect. Yes, he'll be twelve weeks old in a few days. Doesn't take after his shrimpy mama, that's for sure.

Random stuff #3: Corwin's feet are exactly 3 1/2 inches from point of heel to tip of longest toe. I expect this to change in no time, since at 10 ish weeks he was 14 lbs and 24 inches long according to the pediatrician's scale and tape. Pictures of baby toes will follow, but right now it's a bit chilly in here and I don't want to whisk his little sock off. I'm currently wondering if anyone makes oilskin dusters for babies, or if it's all soft stuff that soaks up rain like a sponge-suit. We've had a long period of sog here in the South.

Random stuff #4: Most of this month's royalties from Spellslayer went to pay a parking ticket, so my Christmas funds are not what I'd hoped, but with luck I can get a shirt for hubby and a coat for baby without feeling like I'm using someone else's money. Two more teeny paychecks slated for sometime soon after the beginning of the year, from Crossed Genres' anthology and from The Future Fire (links later), so that gives me a little latitude in the mental accounting. Still, I gotta start making diaper money soon. The little one lets me put him down just occasionally now, so perhaps I can get more writing done somehow.

Random stuff #5: Yes, I shop for my dogs. I have something for all of them but Dustin now, because I really want to find him another squeaky penguin. He liked the last one until the other dogs destroyed it for him, and then was sad, so I'm on a quest for a replacement. The others are getting edible presents, but he's not as gung-ho on bones and the like. If he'd killed his birthday softball the way I expected him to, shopping would be much easier, but he still hasn't despite sharing a birthday with Harry Potter. Next stop: PetSmart if I can figure out where the nearest is.
